Lewiston welcomes new finance director

LEWISTON — Tracy Roy was sworn in June 2 as Lewiston finance director.

Roy most recently served as finance director and treasurer for Augusta since October 2020. Before that she was Augusta’s deputy finance director, treasurer and tax collector from 2013-20; York’s finance director from 2011-13; Auburn’s finance director from 2009-11; South Portland ‘s controller from 2003-09; and an accountant for South Portland from 2001-03.

“Tracy has a wealth of municipal finance experience, including her recent post at the city of Augusta. She is a Lewiston native and returning home,” Lewiston City Administrator Heather Hunter said.

“We are glad to have Tracy on board, and I’m excited for the city of Lewiston,” Mayor Carl L. Sheline said.

Roy has a Bachelor of Science degree in business accounting from the University of Maine of Augusta, is a board member of the Maine Government Finance Officers Association, and has continued her professional training through the Kennebec Leadership Institute and the Government Finance Officers Association.

“I am excited to start this new challenge and to be working with the Lewiston team,” Roy said.
